DEERY ME is on holidays!!! I'm sorry! I really never wanted to do this and I feel

like a bad mother abandoning her baby but I just don't have the time to put the effort

into my blog at the moment and I don't really wanna be half-arsing it! So with just over

3 months until the wedding now I'm going to focus all of my attention towards the big day

but I shall start again with my full attention and many many ideas (plus some wedding pics!)

in March 2012. I hope you will wait for me!!!

In the mean time you can find me updating DEERY ME on facebook or instagram

(search deerymeblog). I will also be updating my 365 Grateful project which I started

a little over a month ago now! You can find that here :)

TEGAN + BLAINE GET MARRIED

Some photos from a beautiful wedding I attended a few weeks ago...

The amount of detail and thought that was put in to everything was amazing and truly

made the wedding unique and very much 'Tegan + Blaine'. The excitement and
happiness on the day was sooo obvious - you could tell these two are gonna be together forever :)

It was amazing and I was so glad to attend. I'm also super glad that Tegan is going to

let me borrow some of the gorgeous knick knacks she made for my own wedding next year.
Now thats what I call bride's working together - take note bridezilla's!

I am so excited for the warmer weather - especially summertime.

It is definitely my favourite season. I don't mind a little sweat as long as I get to

wear shorts, skirts, flowy dresses, bikini's and take lots of trips to the beach!

My heart ring that looks like the jordy askill heart ring that I've been coveting has finally arrived!

And... I love it!!! It's gorgeous! Delicate and beautiful :) Reminds me exactly of the real thing.

I also tried my first ever macaroon today!!! I know, I can't believe I've never had one either!

Okay... I just did something and I'm hoping I dont regret it!

I've been flirting with the idea of the flatform for a while now and stupidly decided to

check out what was happening on solestruck....next thing I know the above little babies

are in my checkout and will now be arriving at my doorstep in a couple of weeks time!

I think my fondness of the flatform is because of my love of flats... I'm not much of

a heels/stilettos/platform girl (I know gasp in horror)! Anyone who knows me knows I
walk really really fast (I am DEFINITELY not a dawdler!) and I simply cannot do that in
heels plus flats always win in my books due to comfort reasons. However, I still do have
my eye out for a pair of mustard lita's (I've been promised they're super comfy!).

Soo please be everything I hope you will be flatform!!!

What do you guys think of the flatform? Yay or nay?

It's been a little while since I've had a watch now and I've got a serious case of watch envy.

it's just not the same whipping out your phone to check the time.

I'm undecided yet though as to whether i'd like a nice man style chunky gold one,

a more classic black band timepiece or a fun coloured plastic one.

I finally started searching online for one only to find I was too late and they'd all been

snatched up. Thankfully I found this little baby on ETSY and for quite a penny less then

Sorry for my lack of posting at the moment but we're currently renovating our house so

I've been busy busy. Living on concrete at the moment which is just delightful (note my

sarcasm). Should look really nice when we're finished though which will make all the hard

work worth it. I might even do a little house post later in the year when I've finished

decorating. Some other good news though! My wedding dress arrived!!!! I had ordered it

from ETSY by a dressmaker in the US so was quite nervous about the fit, etc, etc. I was

actually too nervous to try it on at first...But... It looks perfect! Fits like a glove and makes

me feel like some sort of Disney princess :) I wont show any pics yet but I will certainly

post some after the wedding next year. I also got my wedding shoes in the mail and

might do a post on them shortly. They smell like strawberries ;)

MIAMI MARKETS

Took a little trip to the Miami Designer Markets today.

The opened last month and have already got a great handful of stalls.

One of my favourite beng the Soy Chai Latte - Vintage candles stall.

Where they have filled delightfully vintage tea cups, kettles, milk jugs and other

retro goodies with fancy little scented soy wax.

I picked up the above crystal milk jug - scented with Cranberry Mandarin :)

WINTER TIME

So something kinda cool actually happened this winter...

Brisbane got a delightful little visit in the form of the Winter Festival.

A glorious place with an outdoor ice skating rink, a little chai latte lodge and other little

huts of food that one shouldn't eat (the churro's seemed like a good idea at the time!).

If you haven't already been make sure you grab your skates (if you have some! - you can

hire if you don't :)) and head out to King George Square before it leaves us to bring some icy

goodness to Sydney and Melbourne. Don't forget your beanie!

Went down to the The Village Markets today.

Have returned home with a few vintage buys that are currently doing a spin cycle

from Chase.Dakota which will be keeping me warm this winter :)

The markets also gave me a good chance to finally wear my big floppy hat!

Sorry I've been missing! I've had a busy and distracting week!

My fiance has just graduated from the Police Academy so we've been busy celebrating :)

Soo... it is officially winter now! I normally cant wait til summer rolls around again but

I am actually looking forward to wearing all the maxi skirts I've accumulated the last couple

of months. Plus my sock and tights collection has grown immensely since last winter and I

have a whole new array of colours to choose from. Yes, it's the little things that excite me.

I have a few DIY projects planned - some for the wedding; some just for me ;) pics to come.

Currently feeling inspired by these photos from Coury C of Fancy Treehouse.

I bought a big floopy hat a while back and haven't yet worn it... I always feel like a bit

of a knob if I go to wear it somewhere for some reason? Like its pointless to put it on

at night or for the trip to work (I think the bus folk would just stare...)

Maybe I just haven't had the right occasion to wear it?

with these two new dresses that have just come in store... The silk drape dress is gorgeous.

In person it's much more of a pale pink colour. Beautiful!

DOUBLE KNOT IT

I'm normally pretty boring with my hair. Either out and straight or a top knot but

I really love this double knot that's been popping up and I found a tutorial that makes

it sound easy enough... Hopefully if it turns out nicely I'll take a pic for you to see :)

Here's the double knot 'how to':

First, spritz the hair all over with a sea-salt spray
Next, scrunch the hair into bunches while drying to add waves and texture
Pull a thick section of hair out at the front, sweeping it into a deep side part
Take back two sections of hair and tie into a knot - then again into a double knot
Use bobby pins to secure

TOPSHOPS Unique Fall 2011 show was themed, rather obviously, from 101 Dalmatians.

While I probably wouldn't wear much, if any, from the collection I do find it

delightfully kitsch to look at. I mean who doesn't love a childhood Disney movie.

The hair bun 'ears' were very sweet and I especially love the little

noses some of the girls were sporting.

It was also very nice to see Aussie model Bambi walking for the show :)

My sister turned 21 the other day so we had a jungle themed party to celebrate!

My costume was fairly cheap and basically consisted of a leopard print dress with a nose

and whiskers drawn on in eyeliner. I then teased my hair to be a 'mane' only to realise

later that leopards dont have manes! So I ended up being some sort of hybrid wild cat.

Recently we celebrated our engagement with our nearest and dearest

down at burleigh heads with some barefoot bowls and bbq :)

The weather had been ugly for the week prior but the blue skies and sunshine appeared just in time

(albeit with a little additional wind - which I blame for my shocking bowls performance!).

I used to think it was 'grandma' to wear lipstick but have

recently rediscovered a love for the painted lip.

Partly due to finally purchasing the legendary MAC Myth

lipstick and partly due to all the amazing lip colours there are!

So much more variety then your gloss, balm or stain.

In other news I found out I got an interview for a volunteer position at

Melbourne Fashion Week today (I say it calmly but inside I am bursting with happiness).

They had over 1,200 stylish ladies apply so I'm feeling pretty nervous

but lucky to have one. The big interview is Thursday night so wish me luck!!!

I have a night photography course coming up soon too :) so hopefully I get some cool shots I can show off.

Now because it is so ridiculously hot today I am going to go fall asleep on my lilo in the pool ;) Ahhh summmer... I will miss you.

Sorry it's a day late!

Here are the pictures from my weekend when I finally got to take my new bike out (thank you sunshine!).

My lovely vintagey bike was a Christmas present from my fiance - I love it so much. Wicker basket and all.

My favourite from the Golden Globes was definetly Emma Stone.

I love how its simple but beautiful. Plus I can't get enough of Calvin Klein at the moment.

Emma stone, in case you didn't recognise her (which I didn't at first!), is from Superbad, Zombieland, Easy A, etc.

She is normally a redhead but is naturally actually blonde.

I have started looking around for wedding ideas and stumbled across Johanna Johnson's stuff.

She is an Australian designer and creates the most beautiful wedding dresses but she also makes

gorgeous headpieces and other more 'fancier' clothing. I particularly love the black bolero above ;)

I am always a fan of a little leopard so I couldn't resist when I saw

this little leopard belt at Dotti. Will be the perfect finish to all my LBD's.

PS. Sorry for the lack of posts at the moment but as you've probably heard the

floods in Queensland have put Brisbane in a bit of a whirlwind and I have been

helping out by working in the emergency call centre. Some of the stories are

so sad with people losing their homes and in some cases their lives.
